Definately linux. Less viruses and security hazards, but most importantly it's free. Window servers requires all types of licensing which can be very costly.

for me i would say linux but i would Rather FreeBSD. Windows Is Just Pathetic It Is A Little Faster For Using For Personal Use But For Server Use You Would Have to reboot it every day even though it is only about 10 mins lost to downtime but that might be 10 mins of money lost by clients not beeing to acess thier pages thats my 2c's

Windows crashes way to often and the viruses are annoying!

With Linux, the operating system is effectively free, says Phil Cox, principal consultant with SystemExperts. With Microsoft, there are licensing fees for any version, so cost is a factor. And relative to any physical hardware platform, Linux performance appears to be about 25% faster, Cox says.

    Hey
Same here, I only use Windows servers when I need to: if I need to deploy office infrastructure with Active Directory and everything, or I have an application which only can run at Windows, you get the point.

I honestly think that there is no much room for 'Linux vs. Windows' holywars.
We use what we need to use, it's just a tool for Christ sake!

And the tool can't be good or bad, it's just can be proper for your job or not, that's it.
    All hail captain Obvious!

I would say a linux is better because a linux would be harder for online hackers to hack than windows?
