Why do free web hosters ask from users to post at their forum? Do they get money for every post we make or something?

Yes, I mean they get paid per click.
So, you mean that the don't earn money if the same person clicks double on an ad or sth?

sjabnix

They dont earn money if the same person click on the ad twice if its what you asked.. They earn money if the same person clicks on difference ads but not the same.. or they could just get a friend till set up a macro clicking on the ad:P

What sjabnix said. On average, I think you get around $45 for 1200 clicks? I forgot what it was but I'm sure you get 1-10c for each click. Too bad they don't paypal XD

i dont think you're supposed to post info like that :P but yes it is a shame they dont deal with paypal, but using their cheque system gives them more control over it.. so thats why they use them

Check sounds okay. As long as the check gets to you, i don't think it should matter a lot :)

lol, some people still prefer paypal though, alot easier.

RustyNut

people prefer paypal because they get the money straight away.. cheques take 3-10 days to clear in the bank

I've never used paypal so I can't be sure. I think I'd rather have an online account because then you can buy anything you fancy easily online. I don't know about the withdrawal option though since through unbelievably bad luck, paypal hates my country :)

RustyNut

ah, maybe they'll get paypal over there sometime, i cant see it being that far away in the future, as long as there is the demand for it...

is there not any alternatives over there?

Earlier paypal doesn''t supported banks in india but now they do.So i think they are expanding globally and will soon cover all the parts.Ebay rocks anyway.

I think posting in their forums will keep there online presence in the market. There site gets popular & google ranking inreases & once the site is popular many companies rush to there site for advertisement & they get a good share from those companies and also get good affiliates.:)

That is so true. :( I wish the day would come when Paypal would accept accounts from the Philippines.

Anyway, back to the topic, yeah a lot of hosts require forum posting since the members clicking/viewing ads in the forum can help in earning revenue for the site to pay for server costs.

I think there are no monetary gains for every post you make in forums but there are certain incentives on total number of posts. Inviting people to join the forum makes a community where people share their opinions and experiences.
