I have seen it on some websites, say you go and try to access a port on a server: domain.com:382 for example it will automaticly ban your ip, then if you go to the website it displays hacking attempt blah blah... and tells you the ports.

It will say for the first attempt you can unblock yourself, but then after that you are banned from the server.

What kind of server application is this?

it wasnt exactly a script, say you go to a domain for example hostingchitchat.com and you try to access port 383 it will ban you, and if you access the site at: hostingchitchat.com it will say hacking attempt, and say for first time offenses you can unblock your ip, and it lists the ports.

For example:
http://dundalkeagle.com:2222 this site has it.

Perhaps you can contact them and ask?

I've also found an article about protecting public web servers; maybe this can help.
